A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. Thursday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Cut Off for Elizabeth Pitre Callais, 89, a native of Golden Meadow and resident of Cut Off, who died at 11:34 a.m. Feb. 4, 1998.
Visitation will be 9 a.m. to funeral time Thursday at the church.
Burial will be at St Joseph Cemetery.
She was the mother of Dickson J. and Norman J. Callais, Rowena Callais Cheramie and Ruth Callais Adams; and sister of Laura Hall. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Onezime J. Callais; parents, Maximillion Pitre and Locadih Dantin Pitre; son, Russell J. Callais; brothers, I. J., Maximillion, Felix and Harris Pitre; sisters, Blanche Hebert, Edna Danos, and Victoria Cheramie; and also one grandchild.
Samart Funeral Home of Cut Off is in charge of arrangements.
