Alexander Pisarski, 95
Worcester - Alexander Pisarski died Sunday September 30, 2012 at home, surrounded by his loving family. He was born June 23, 1917 in Worcester, to Frank and Pauline Pisarski. He leaves his loving and devoted wife of 57 years, Shirley M. Pisarski. He leaves as well two daughters, Donna J. P. Rose (with her husband Henry B. Rose) and Sandra L. Pisarski (with her long-time companion Oscar W. Wikstrom). He is survived by three of his five sisters, Vera and Frances Pisarski, and Catherine Ekhart.
A Veteran of World War II, he served proudly for two years in the US Army Air Corps 13th Air Force in the Asiatic Pacific Theatre. Upon his return he worked for 36 years at Wyman-Gordon Company, retiring in 1982.
Active in many civic and charitable organizations, he was a 32nd degree Mason, member of Morning Star Lodge in Worcester, Scottish Rite-Valley of Worcester, Aleppo Shrine of Wilmington, Past Patron of Stella Chapter Order of the Eastern Star, Wesley United Methodist Church (in which he was active for many years) and a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
A "man of all trades" he always had a "project" to work on, whether building by hand the home in which he and his wife brought up their two daughters, roofing their summer cottage at Manomet Point, or working in his yard and gardens at home.
Most especially he loved time spent with his family. For the past 26 years they traveled together to the Hawaiian Islands, including one last trip this past March. There they made many special and lasting friendships, one particularly dear friend being Mr. Solomon Chung of Kailua, Hawaii, whom they first met with his late wife Molly.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to The Shriners Hospitals for Children - Boston, Attn: Susan Berkowitz, 51 Blossom Street, Boston, MA 02114 or at http://www.shrinershospitalboston.org/donate.
Graveside services will be held at 10:30a.m. Saturday, October 6th at Rural Cemetery. Memorial services will follow at 11:30a.m. at Wesley United Methodist Church. For directions and online guestbook, click link below or visit:
