JACOBUS Dorothy ''Dottie'' Arbegast, 72, was called home to heaven by the Lord on Tuesday, February 26, 2008, from Colonial Manor. Dottie was the wife of Donald L. Arbegast, Sr. with whom she shared over 55 and a half years of marriage.

Born May 27, 1935, in Shippensburg, she was the daughter of the late Margaret (Coy) Strickland and Leon Albert Piper. Mrs. Arbegast graduated from Shippensburg High School.

She was employed for 18 years in the candy department at Boscov's.

She was a member of New Fairview Church of the Brethren and will be deeply missed by her family, especially her grandchildren. In addition to her husband, Dottie leaves to cherish her memory one daughter, Debora Jenkins of Jacobus; one grandson, Andrew ''AJ'' Jenkins, Jr. and wife, Shonda of Glen Rock; a granddaughter, Deanna Messerly of Jacobus; three greatgrandchildren, Selena Jenkins, Alexia Jenkins, and Adreanna Jenkins; a sister, Naomi Carey and husband, Dennis of Fenwick Island, Del.; a brother, Leo Piper and wife, Linda of Randalstown, Md.; and a host of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a son, Donald Arbegast, Jr.

Burial will immediately follow in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens.
