Lillian N. Beam, 91, of Ligonier, died Wednesday evening, June 5, 2013, in the Greensburg Care Center. She was born Oct. 29, 1921, in Cook Township, a daughter of the late Eugene M. and Freda Fetter Piper. Prior to her retirement, she had been employed by the former Dairy Delite in Ligonier. She was a member of the Tree of Life Church in Latrobe. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Roy E. Beam, in 1995; five sisters, Grethel Blair, Hazel Fait, Wilda Detar, Olive Hoffer and Margaret Brown; and three brothers, Glenn E. and David A. Piper and Vernon Hoburn. Lillian is survived by a sister, Laura Cole, of Latrobe; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Friends were received Friday at the J. PAUL McCRACKEN FUNERAL CHAPEL INC., 144 E. Main St., Ligonier, where her life was celebrated Saturday with the Rev. Dr. J. Paul McCracken officiating. Interment followed in the Ligonier Valley Cemetery, Ligonier. Lillian's family sends their deepest gratitude to the doctors and staff of the Greensburg Care Center and to the Grane Home Health and Hospice Inc. for their love, comfort and support during her final days.
