Flora Ann Davis

Services for Flora Ann (Pinkston) Davis, 96, a former Minco resident, were held on Monday, February, 23, 2004 at 2 p.m. at the Minco first Baptist Church, with Rev. Jim Butler of the Village Baptist Church in Oklahoma City officiating under the direction of the Huber-Reynolds Funeral Home of Minco. Burial followed in Minco's Evergreen Cemetery.
Davis was born on September 23, 1907 in Seminole to Mack and Rosa Anna (Helphrey) Pinkston and died on Thursday, February 19, 2004 in Edmond.
She had lived in the Minco community since 1909, graduating from Minco High School in 1926. She was one of the first women in Oklahoma to letter in varsity basketball. She married Lloyd Davis in 1929. She was a member of the Minco first Baptist Church and the Naomi Sunday School class. She was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary. The Eastern Star and the Minco Senior Citizen's center. She attended the Hills Business College in Oklahoma City. She was a cook for Minco High School's 4-H FFA and football groups-her pastries were well known.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Mack and Rosa Pinkston; by her husband, Lloyd Davis, on August 13, 1968; by two sisters, May Pinkston and Lora Kuhlman; by four brothers, George, Walter, Clarence and Tommy Pinkston; by two nephews, Bill and Mike Pinkston and by one niece, , Leota Turner.
She is survived by two daughters and a son-in-law, Rose Mary and Robert Lakin of Edmond and Patsy Bruner of Tulsa; one son and daughter-in-law, Dennis and Loretta Davis of Bethany; by five grandchildren, Will Davis, Daron Davis, Pam Davis-Boswell, Paul Lakin and Patrick Bruner; by five great-grandchildren, Amanda Davis, Courtney Davis, Cameron Boswell, Dylan Boswell and Cole Ryan Lakin.
