He grew up in Northern Virginia and graduated from St. Johns Military Academy High School and Virginia Polytechnic Institute. He was proud to have served in the U.S. Army following graduation.
He met and married Trudy in Washington, DC in 1969 and they immediately moved to Treasure Island where they enjoyed the beach and boating. John began his career as a systems engineer and then chose to move into insurance and financial services.
He loved working in his yard and home and caring for his pets. He was a proud participant of his neighborhood's Lights of Lake Park during the Christmas season and was well known for his Christmas train in the front yard.
John is survived by his loving wife, Trudy; brother, Marc; and sister, Cathy; & his beloved dog, Daisy Mae, and cat, Jeremy.
A viewing will be held at Mohn Funeral Home, 9700 Seminole Boulevard, on Thursday, Sept. 2nd from 9-10:30 am and a funeral mass will be held at 11 am at St. Matthew Catholic Church, 9111 90th Avenue North, Largo.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Disabled Americans Veterans (DAV), Chapter 13, or the Society of Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA).
