MOLINE — Alice L. Atchison, 96, of Moline, formerly of Ottawa, passed away Saturday, Jan. 12, at Hope Creek Care Center, East Moline.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 16, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Moline. Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at DeRoo Funeral Home, where a rosary will be recited by the Sacred Heart Altar & Rosary Society at 4 p.m. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, East Moline. Memorials may be made to Sacred Heart Church or Marquette High School, Ottawa.
Alice was born April 11, 1916, in Dayton Township, La Salle County, the daughter of Thomas and Louise (Schomas) Pillion. She married Herbert A. Atchison on Nov. 21, 1941, in Ottawa. He preceded her in death on Oct. 18, 1974.
Survivors include her daughters and sons-in-law, Patricia and Thomas Courtney, Hampton, and Dolores "Dorrie" and Michael Pavich, Springfield; son, Dr. Thomas Atchison, LeClaire, Iowa; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; a sister, Ann Dufour, Moline; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, James, in 2003; a sister; and two brothers.
