NEWPORT NEWS - Earnest Leonard Piggott, of Newport News, 71, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 4, 2011. He was preceded in death by his father and mother, two sisters and brother.
He leaves to cherish his memories, his wife of 52 years, Lucy M. Piggott; four sons, Leonard and his wife, April, Jeffrey, Jerry, Carlos and wife, Carrie Ann; two grandsons, Leonard and wife, Ashley, Shaun and wife, Amy; one granddaughter, Latoya Palmer; five great-grandchildren; brother, Phillip Deno Piggott and wife, Geneva, of Charles City; and a host of other relatives and friends.
The family will receive visitors at the Nelsen Funeral Home, 3785 Strawberry Plains Road, Williamsburg, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 7. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 8, at New Beech Grove Baptist Church, 326 Tabbs Lane, Newport News. Interment at Shiloh Baptist Church Cemetery in Williamsburg. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society , 4240 Park Place Court, Glen Allen, VA 23060.
