Linda Kay Pigeon Garcia, age 66, of Neola, passed away February 26, 2013 at the University of Utah Hospital.
Linda was born May 29, 1946 in Ft. Duchesne to Manuel Garcia and Marjorie Pigeon.
Linda grew up in Neola on the family farm, she was raised by her grandparents Claude Atwine & Allison Pigeon.
She worked for the Ute Tribe in accounting for about 30 years. She loved her Ute heritage, spoke fluent Ute, and even spent time interpreting for those who needed her. She enjoyed attending Indian ceremonies, including the Sundance, and Pow Wows.
She liked to ride horses and motorcycles. She was very crafty, making many things through the years, sewing, quilting and making many beautiful things. She liked to barbeque, travel, watch old movies, garden and cook.
She was a wonderful grandmother who delighted in her spending time with her grandchildren. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and was proud to be endowed in the temple ceremony.
She is survived by her daughter, Jacquieline B. Rivers, Neola; 4 grandchildren, and many other grandkids adopted through the years. She is also survived by many, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Claude Atwine and Allison Pigeon, her parents, brothers and sisters, Claudia Mary Padia, Ila Louise Padia, Patrick J. Padia and infant sister Margaret Padia.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 1, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at the Neola LDS Chapel. Friends may call 1 hour prior to the service.
Burial in the Neola Cemetery.
