Pittsboro Man Dies From Auto Crash Injuries
Wife Is Also Critically Hurt In Same Accident
Ellis Pierson, age 65, of near Pittsboro, died Friday afternoon at 5 o'clock in the Witham hospital at Lebanon, from injuries received in an automobile crash the preceding day. Mrs. Pierson also received serious injuries in the
accident, and was taken to the hospital but since has been brought to her home.
Mr. and Mrs. Pierson were returning from Sheridan, where they had been to buy chickens, when the accident occurred.
Mr. Pierson was born in Boone county but had spent the greater part of his life on a farm near Pittsboro. He married Ida Goins and to them were born three children, Otis, who was killed during the World war; Mrs. Osie Odom,
who with her family, live near her parents, and Ralph of Milwaukee. There are six grandchildren. He is also survived by one brother, Preston, of Indianapolis, and one sister, Mrs. Lula Ellis, of Xenia, Ohio.
Funeral services were held at the home, Monday afternoon, in charge of the Rev. E. A. Williams. Burial was in the Lizton cemetery.
