Harold R. Pierce was born on July 19, 1930 in Houston, Texas to Samuel Burroughs & Robbie Ann (Hopson) Pierce. He was a graduate of the University of North Texas and worked in Houston in Human Resources for Weingartens for twenty-seven years and Randall's until his retirement in 1992. His work allowed him to travel to many places and took up a much of his time. However, Mr. Pierce loved Leon County and coming back to the country. In 1980, he and his wife decided to make Centerville their permanent home. His favorite pastimes were fishing and sitting on his porch. In his younger years, he was an avid squirrel hunter. Mr. Pierce was a "people person" and loved telling stories. He was loved by all who knew him and will be dearly missed. Mr. Pierce passed away Thursday, February 14, 2013 in Centerville, Texas. He was preceded in death by both of his parents; wife, Ruth Pierce and brother, Billy Pierce.
Survivors include son and daughter-in-law, Sam & Debbie Pierce of Baytown; daughter & son-in-law, Robbie & Don Ferguson of Centerville; granddaughter, Jamie Ferguson of Centerville and a large extended family.
Tommy Pierce, Bobby Pierce, Bryan Robinson, Don Ferguson, Eddie Hammock and John Harrison will serve as pallbearers.
Walters Funeral Home in Centerville is in charge of all arrangements.
