Mary E. Bastian, 102, of Mansfield died Thursday, Sept. 21, 2000, at Broad Acres Nursing Home, Wellsboro.
Born Jan. 21, 1898, in Sylvania, she was the daughter of John and Lillian Mae Watkins Pickering.
She was a retired realtor, published author and accomplished artist. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Mansfield; member and past Noble Grand of the former Elizabeth Rebekah Lodge; and a past state president of the Ladies Auxiliary Patriarch Militants.
Preceding her in death was her husband, Lloyd F. Bastian, in 1973.
Surviving are three sons, Lloyd F. Bastian II of Green Cove Springs, Fla., Jack R. Bastian of Corning, N.Y., and Glenn P. Bastian of Blossburg; two daughters, Virginia Smith and Fay Jones, both of Mansfield; 15 grandchildren, and 22 great-grandchildren.
Private funeral services will be held at the Wilston Funeral Home, Mansfield, with the Rev. Joyce Treas, her pastor, officiating. Burial will be made at Oakwood Cemetery, Mansfield.
Memorial donations may be made to the United Methodist Church Building Fund, 67 East Wellsboro St., Mansfield, Pa.
