Florence Elizabeth Phillips was born in Webb City, Mo., Feb. 18, 1893. When four years of age she moved with her parents to Boulder, Colo., where she grew to womanhood. After graduating from Mapleton school she entered the Boulder Business college and later accepted a position in the Sam Nichol millinery store, where she proved an efficient and favorite employee for nearly five years. At the time age of 9 years she united with the Christian church and ever proved an untireing and faithful worker for the cause. She searved as secretary of the Bible school for five years, and always played an infuential part in the Young People's activities. Aug. 10, 1913, she was united in marriage with C.W. Brewer of Elma, Kan., at which place they made their home until a year ago when they moved to Mount Ida, Kan. She departed this life Jan. 2, 1918, at the age of 24 years, 10 months and 14 days. One son was born to this union. Joseph William Brewer, who
is now three and one-half years of age. Besides the husband and son, Mrs. Brewer is survived by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. J.W. Phillips of North Ninteenth street, Boulder; four sisters, Mrs. A.A. Birdick, Menna, Colo.; the Misses Viola, Mattie and Gladys Phillips of Boulder, two brothers, Harry J. Phillips of the United States army, and Nelson N. Phillips of the United States navy, and a
host of friends. She was a kind and loving wife, mother, daughter, sister and friend, ever ready to assist others to gain the better part of life.
The funeral was held from the Christian church of Boulder Jan. 6th 1918, at 2:00p.m. Services were conducted by the Rev. R.A. Schell. The services were carried out
according to her request. The song service was rendered by the Misses Austa and Flora Remley, Onabelle Townsend and Wilena Porter. The pallbearers were Mrs. Maude Washburn, Mrs. Vivian Searcy and the Misses Loraine Carlson, Vernice
Elliott, Hessie Glidden and Susie Blakey. The service was very impressive and the casket literally buried in flowers. Interment will be made in the Green
Mountain Cemetery.

DEATH OF MRS. FLORENCE BREWER

Word was received this morning from J. W. Phillips from Mount Ida, Neb. (?), that his daughter Mrs. Florence Phillips Brewer died at seven o"clock this morning after a two months illness. Besides her husband she leaves a son three years old, her parents and family here. The deceased was an especial favorite with a wide circle of friends here and for a number of years was trimmer for the Nicol store. Funeral arrangements have not yet been made.
