Edythe V. Phillips, age 93, of Valparaiso, IN, passed away Wednesday, January 17, 2007 at the VNA Horton Hospice. She was born November 27, 1913 in Grinnell, IA to John E. and Carrie (Morgan) Alexander and graduated from Grinnell High School. Mrs. Phillips had been a bookkeeper with Joseph B. Mihalov CPA, was a member of First United Methodist Church, the Lioness Club, the Women's Club and the Friends of Music. On December 13, 1959, she married Robert P. Phillips who preceded her in death in 1996. Survivors include two daughters: Sharon (William) Bonner of Valparaiso and Janice (Robert) Kuehl of Knox; eight grandchildren: James, Steven, Brad (Dianne), Kelly and Korbin (Kathy) Patrick, Shari (Miles) Bauer and Robert (Karen) and Michael Kuehl; 11 great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild. She was preceded in death by one son, Larry Lee Van Asdall in 1941; two sisters and two brothers. Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 20, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. at First United Methodist Church with Rev. Rhonda Kruse officiating. Entombment to follow at Graceland Cemetery.
