From the birth/baptismal records of both the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Ascension and St. John's Cathedral in Savannah, GA, we know Elizabeth's maiden name. Her birth date is from the listing on the 1900 US Federal Census in Savannah. Exactly where she was born in Germany is unknown. Her marriage records to Charles Schwarz also remain hidden. Their first child, Caroline (Lena) Schwarz' birth/baptism was probably in 1858. Family lore records that Lena was born "at sea." After Charles suddenly died in 1875, Elizabeth remarried 11 Nov 1878 Edward Bruckner. She used the name Louisa nee Phillips on their marriage license. Charles and Elizabeth had 7 [possibly 9] children, 5 living to adulthood.

Elizabeth was buried from the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Ascension as Mrs. Elizabeth Bruckner. Laurel Grove Record Keeper's Books have her as Mrs. Elizabeth Schwarz. She is buried in Lot 845 with her husband, Charles Schwarz. There is no marker for her.
