She was born March 7, 1925 in Clay County, IL to Andrew Wright & Viola (Maxwell) Phillips. She married Tom Brown on March 6, 1943 in Sailor Springs, IL.
She was a local bookkeeper for several area businesses, attended Lathrop Chapel in Clay City, and was a past member of Clay City Eastern Star. Vida Mae enjoyed quilting, sewing, square dancing and outside flowers.
She is survived by her husband: Tom Brown of Clay City; children: Shirley Ann Osborn of Bridgeport, Lloyd Dale Brown & wife Darla of Beebe, AR and Philip Brown & wife Gwen of Clay City; grandchildren: Vicki, Dale, Cindy, Lisa, Slade, Megan, Chelsea & Ethan; great-grandchildren: Christopher, Josh, Brent, BriAnne, Shelby, Austin & Harley; sister-in-law: Genevieve Phillips of Louisville, IL. She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers (Delbert, Lawrence, Arthur Warren & Henry), sisters (Irene & Ellen). Graveside service will be held at 10 AM Saturday, November 3, 2007 at Smith Cemetery in Clay City, IL. There is no visitation. Frank & Bright Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
