BURLINGTON - Raymond Charles Phelps, 67, of Willington, Conn., died unexpectedly on Jan. 14, 2012, in Rochester, N.H.
He was born on March 2, 1944, in Burlington. Ray graduated from Burlington High School in 1962.
He then served in the U.S. Air Force Strategic Air Command during the Vietnam War. Upon his return, Ray worked for General Electric in Burlington. In 1972 he moved to Connecticut, to accept a position at United Technologies in their Research and Development Department, from which he retired in 1999.
Raymond is survived by his children, Richard LeBlanc, Lisa LeBlanc, Jason Phelps, Nathan Phelps, and Daniel Phelps; eight grandchildren; one great-grandchild; brother, Donald Phelps; sister, Mary Ann Dion; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Charles and Lucille Phelps; and sister, Nancy Phelps.
There will be no calling hours. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at St. Joseph's Co-Cathedral on Saturday, Jan. 28, 2012, at 11 a.m.
Interment will be in New Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Plattsburgh Ave. ElmwoodMeunier in charge.
