Mrs. Sallie Belle Russow Phelps, almost 72, died at 11:50 this morning at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Rosie Daron, on route 4.

She suffered a paralytic stroke in December, 1954 and had been ill since. The last 13 months Mrs. Phelps had been at the Darron home.

Mrs. Phelps was born Feb. 5, 1884 in Rogers, Ark. She came here in 1936 from Bentonville, Ark., and lived in Kendricktown until she was moved to the Darron home.

Her first husband, Daniel D. Russow died in December, 1926. Later she was married to Henry Phelps. He also preceded her in death.

Surviving Mrs. Phelps are seven other daughters. Mrs.Alice Brooks, Cantor Creek, Calif.; Mrs. Mary Pendergraft, Elgin, Kansas, Mrs. Cinda Scribner, Mrs. Martha Spurgeon, Mrs. Eva Fansler,and Mrs. Pauline Chrisman, Carthage; four sons, Obie Russow, Paul Russow and John Russow, Carthage, and Sgt. Charles Russow, U.S. Army, stationed at Fort Carson, Colo; five stepchildren, George Russow, Joplin; Jim Russow, Adrian, Mrs. Sarah Wallace and Mrs. Dora Barker, Rich Hill, and Mrs. Lottie Bates, Siloam Springs, Ark; three sisters, Mrs. Earnest Capps and Mrs. Leonard Connor, Carthage, and Mrs. Arlie Cross, Orange Cove, Calif.; a brother Alfred Ford, Albia, Iowa, and 47 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

Mrs Russow was a member of the Church of God in Bentonville.

Funeral services will be held at 2 o'clock Saturday afternoon at the Ulmer funeral home. The Rev. Forrest Bailey, pastor of the First Christian chursh will officiate. Burial will be in Park cemetery.

Mrs. Daron's mother-in-law passed away Jan. 20.
