Mary Dean Meriwether, 72, of Eagle Rock, formerly of Pierce City, died yesterday, January 28, at Red Rose Inn in Cassville.

Mrs. Meriwether was born April 3, 1934, in Puxico, the daughter of George and Cecil Warran Pettit. She had been employed at Fasco Industries for many years and was a member of Lighthouse Pentecostal Church.

She married Albert Irvin Meriwether on December 3, 1955, in Anderson, Indiana, and he survives.

Additional survivors include one son, Daniel Meriwether of Pierce City; two daughters, Velma Mitchell of El Dorado, Kansas, and M. Kaye Mann of Republic; two brothers, Jerry Pettit of Anderson, Indiana, and Mike Pettit of the state of California; three sisters, Pauline Bracht of Fort Wayne, Indiana, Cathern Edwards of Wichita, Kansas, and Carolyn Heart of Newton,Kansas; six grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, February 1, at Lakin Chapel in Pierce City with Brother Jim Clay officiating. Burial will be in Pierce City Cemetery under the direction of Lakin Funeral Home of Pierce City.

Visitation will be from 7 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, January 31, at the funeral home.

Services for Mary Dean Pettit Meriwether, 72, of Pierce City, who died January 28, were held at 11 a.m. yesterday, February 1, at Lakin Chapel in Pierce City with Brother Jim Clay officiating.

Music was provided by Barbara Evens and Sandra Clay who sang Shall We Gather At The River, I Know Who Holds Tomorrow, and Goodbye World Goodbye. Pianist was Barbara Evens.

Casketbearers were Bill Wood, Gary Mitchell, Seth Mann, Jeff Goude, Truman Evans, and Carless Conner.

Burial was in Pierce City Cemetery under the direction of Lakin Funeral Home of Pierce City.
