Wife of SOLOMON BRASHEARS. From the book " A Brashear(s) Family History", by Charles Brashear , the following: "Note that Jemima and Solomon named their first son, Joshua Pettit Brashears. Researchers believe that Jemima was a granddaughter of Joshua Pettit, who lived along the Pacolet River in SC in the Revolutionary War years and until his death around 1786. However, which of his four or five sons was her father is still unknown."

Jemima Pettit Brashears died on Dec. 20, 1854 in Ralls County, MO.
Family tradition says Jemima and Solomon had 15 children, all sons, including at least three sets of twins. Some must have died at birth, because the record gives only some who survived.
