Beverly L. Fry, 78, of Creston, passed away Monday, July 18, 2011 at the Creston Nursing & Rehab Center in Creston.
Beverly Lois Fry was born April 3, 1933 in Osceola, Ia. to Doris Adeline (Gray) Pettit and Paul Arthur Pettit. She grew up and attended school in Osceola. On October 20, 1950 she was united in marriage to Ronal Leo Fry in Ottumwa. They first lived in Creston, and then lived in Osceola, where Bev worked at Snowdens. Later, they moved to Lenox and then back to Creston, where she worked at Gits Mfg. Bev also was a Dietician at Greater Community Hospital and worked as the lunch lady at Creston Schools. She was a member of the First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Creston; Eagles Lodge #1398 of Creston; Creston Women's Bowling Association; Red Hat Member and Retreads Motorcycle Group.
Survivors include her daughter, Rhonda (husband Jim) Giles of Creston; two sons Rick (wife Robin) Fry of Creston and Ed Fry of Ames; 6 grandchildren, Michael (wife Sonja) Giles, Wendy (husband Todd) Jamison, Chad Fry, Jeremy Fry, Amber (husband Dan) Tuhn and Kelli (husband Scott) Wilson; 10 great-grandchildren; one brother: Arthur (wife Jeneane) Pettit of Tacoma, Wash.; four brothers-in-law, Gene Gunter of Van Wert; Doyle Fry (special friend Darlene Myers) of Creston, Roger (wife Beth) Fry of Creston and Randy (wife Samantha) Fry of Nevinville; two sisters-in-law, Kathleen (husband Archie) Hove of Circle, Mont. and Lena (husband Tom) Rouh of Centerville, Ia.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Ron in 1991, her sisters, Doris Ann Pettit in infancy and Marie Gunter; father and mother-in-law: Walter and Ellen Fry; one sister-in-law, Pauline Miller and four brothers-in-law, Everett, C.D, Herman and Kenneth Fry.
