Agnes May Samuels was the daughter of American civil war veteran, Sgt. Erasmus Asbury Samuels and his wife Phoebe Virginia Lough of Augusta and Pendleton Counties, VA/WV. She married Leslie Raymond Pettet March 4, 1914, and the couple had three children; daughters Violet Delores Pettet Daddysman, Frances Elizabeth Pettet, and son Raymond Pettet.
Agnes May Samuels was the grandaughter of War of 1812 veteran, Pvt. Shadrach Samuels and his wife, Margaret (Phillips) Samuels of Augusta County, VA., and she was the great grandaughter of American Revolutionary war veteran, Pvt. (later Reverand) Joseph Samuels and his wife Frances "Fanny" (Snelling) Samuels of Shennandoah and Rockingham Counties, VA., later Page County, VA.
Agnes May Samuels was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother.
