PETRELLA, Mary Josephine, 56, of Mingo Junction, Ohio, passed Wednesday, November 21, 2012 at home.
She was born in Steubenville, Ohio on August 2, 1956, a daughter of the late Louis "Gino" Daniel Petrella and Marjorie Jurasko Petrella.
Mary Jo was a teacher, serving 30 years with the Indian Creek School District; a member of St. Agnes Catholic Church, Indian Creek Education Association; Ohio Education Association; National Education Association; Women's Auxiliary of the American Legion; 1974 Steubenville Catholic Central graduate; Graduate of the University of Steubenville; truly enjoyed organizing and directing the second grade Christmas Performance for many years at Hills Elementary School.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her fiance Ron Anderson in 2004.
Mary Jo is survived by her sister, Judith Petrella Desmond (Michael) of Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.; nephew, Daniel Louis Desmond of Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.; companion, Bo Nameth; and many cousins and friends.
Friends will be received Monday 3-8 p.m. at Blaschalk-Wilson Funeral Home, 115 Union Avenue, Mingo Junction, Ohio, where vigil service will be held at 7:45 p.m.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday, November 27, 2012 at 10 a.m. at St. Agnes Catholic Church, Mingo Junction, with Rev. James M. Dunfee as celebrant.
Interment will follow at Mount Calvary Cemetery, Steubenville, Ohio.
In lieu of flowers, Memorial Contributions may be made in Mary Jo's name to: Hills School, 707 Wilson Avenue, Mingo Junction, Ohio 43938.
