Helen Rose Peterson Aberle, 93, of Lehi, Utah passed away Thursday, October 18, 2012 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Lehi, Utah on July 17, 1919, the daughter of Charles Louis and Elfrieda Z. Peterson. Helen was raised on the Peterson family farm and graduated from Lehi High School in 1937.
She married her loving husband, Vernon August Aberle on March 12, 1947 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple. They are the parents of 4 children. Helen and Vernon built their home in Lehi and she resided there 60 years.
Helen worked for Alpine School District, PTA Board, Larson's Nursing Home, Utah State Training School and was a caregiver to hundreds of people. She was the primary caregiver to her husband for over thirty years.
She served in the LDS church as a Sunday School Teacher, Primary Teacher, Visiting Teacher and many other callings.
Helen kept a strong testimony of the gospel through out her life and she lead her family by her faith. She was talented and gifted and many homes are graced by her handiwork of crocheting, knitting, ceramics, needlepoint and many delicious meals were shared by family, friends and neighbors.
She is survived by three daughters; Penny (Wesley) Peterson, Lehi, Lena (RB) Pennington, Aubrey, TX, Dixie (Phillip) Grace, Lehi, 17 grandchildren and 33 great-grandchildren, whom all new her as "Honey Rose." Also survived by one sister-in-law Beverlee Peterson, Lehi, and many loving nieces and nephews. Helen was the last sibling from a family of 19 children. Preceded in death by her parents, husband, and her two sons, Vernon August Aberle Jr and a baby boy.
Graveside services will be held Wednesday, October 24, 2012 at American Fork Cemetery, 600 North Center at 11:00 a.m. Friends and family may call Tuesday, October 23, 2012 at Wing Mortuary, 118 East Main, Lehi, Utah from 6-8:00 p.m. and 10:00-10:45 a.m. on Wednesday morning at the Mortuary.
