April 19, 1944 - July 12, 2011
After a heroic eleven year battle with Renal Cell Carcinoma the love of our lives Geri Anderson passed onto a new journey. Surrounded by family, our sweetheart, while setting a great example to us, chose to pass through the veil to be greeted by family and friends finally free of pain. In her passing she brought our family closer together than ever and we love her for it.
Geri Peterson Anderson was born on April 19, 1944 in Cedar City, UT to Farrell Martin and Louise Jones Stucki Peterson. She attended Cedar City High School graduating in 1962, and married J. Dean Anderson on June 8, 1962 in the St. George LDS Temple.
Geri was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She served faithfully in the St. George Temple for the past nine years, along with various other callings.
Geri loved all kinds of activities. In recent years, she enjoyed watching her grandkids play sports. Earlier in life, she was a great athlete in her own right, including being the top lady bowler in Cedar for a number of years. She enjoyed spending time at the mountain cabin with family each week. She loved ATV and long car rides with her sweetheart. In recent years, she and Dean traveled around the world visiting temples. By recent count, they were able to do endowments in 45 different temples, as far away as London, England.
Geri is survived by her husband J. Dean Anderson. Her children Martin (Montyne) of Cedar City, UT, Darin (Heidi) Anderson of Lehi, UT, Natalie (Ed) Rowley of Parowan, UT, and Allie (Cris) Chamberlain of Washington, UT. Her brother Kent (Jean) Peterson of Cedar City, UT, and sisters Mary Lou (Don) Worthington of South Jordan, UT, and Beverlee (Jerry) Mounteer of Cedar City, UT, along with 19 wonderful grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents.
