KEARNEY — Lola K. "Casey" Biehl, 74, of rural Kearney died Monday, April 28, 2014, at Good Samaritan Hospital.

Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Gary Main officiating. Burial of ashes will be later at Kearney Cemetery. Horner Lieske McBride & Kuhl Funeral and Cremation Services is in charge of the arrangements.

She was born Dec. 25, 1939, in Minden to Norris and Ruth (Rasmussen) Petersen.

On May 10, 1959, she married Francis "Buss" Biehl in Cozad.

Survivors include her husband; daughter, Angie Kenney and her husband, Paul, of Amherst, grandchildren, Tyler and wife Desi, Jared and wife Danessa, Ethan and Gavin and fiancée Leah Marshall and great-grandchildren, Paisley and Brecken, Fynnegan and Phoebe; son, Gregg Biehl and his wife, Dixie, of Fremont and grandchildren, Breanne Woolsey and husband Todd, Emily, Hannah and Olivia and great-granddaughter, Kinley; son, Eric Biehl of Lincoln and grandchildren, Ian, Harrison and Logan; and brother, Kelly Petersen of Kearney.

She grew up in Cozad and graduated from Cozad High School in 1958.

She and her husband farmed in rural Dawson County. In 1975, they moved 10 miles north of Kearney, began farming and operated Moo Feedlot.

She helped start the day care at First Presbyterian Church in Lexington and was a foster parent. After moving to the Kearney area, she became a member of First United Methodist Church and was active in the adult Sunday school and church boards. Casey did volunteer work for Good Samaritan Hospital Hospice for 15 years.

She loved to play bridge and golf, was helpful to others in counseling and enjoyed decorating. She took great joy in her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and was affectionately known by her car license plate of Mrs. Moo.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Mary Lou Allen.
