Eunice Neve, 85, died Aug. 4 at St Joseph, Mo. She was
in born Hardy, on May 2, 1927, the second child of
Anker and Lydia Petersen. She was raised on the
family farm and attended Nuckolls County schools,
graduating from Ruskin High School in 1945. She
attended Dana College in Blair for two years where she
met Ried Neve. They were married in Ruskin on June 2, 1948.
She was a secretary and bookkeeper.
She was a pastor's spouse and accompanied Ried to parishes in Kennard, Neb., Storm Lake, Allison, Council Bluffs and Perry, Iowa, and Auburn, Neb , as well as to Greeley, Colo
where he was the chaplin for the,Good Samaritan Home. She and Ried were, active in the Cursillo movement.
Eunice and Ried retired l990,and moved to, Omaha. She was active as a volunteer at the Danish-American Archives in
Blair. In 2009, they moved to St. Joseph.
Ried died in 2010.
Her survivors include her daughters: Mrs. Jim Pierce (Juel), of St.Joseph, Mrs. David McWhirter (Deborah) of Allison, Iowa, Mrs.Jack Tinnel (Patricia), of Kansas City and
Mrs. Charles Hettinger (Susan), of Westminster, Colo; grandchildren and great-grandchildren; her sisters, Jane
Lubkeman of Ankeny, Iowa, Marietta Stenson of Superior,
Marilyn Meyer, Omaha; and her brother, Lyle Petersen,
Blue Hill.
She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; two brothers and three infant grandsons.
