Mrs. Peters was a member of the Zion Hill Baptist Church. She was born to the union of William Solomon Peters and Sarah Margaret Wallace, who married in Winn Parish on March 1, 1871.

She was survived by her husband, Rev. Patrick Osborn Moffett of Natchitoches; one adopted son, Sgt. Elzie W. Moffett in the U.S. Army in Columbus, OH; one sister, Mary Algerine Fox of Tannehill; and four brothers, James Spicer Peters of Shreveport, William Horace Peters of Winnfield, Isaac Newton "Newt" Peters of Sterlington, and Benjamin A. "Ben" Peters of Wilmington, NC.

You were part of my Dad's early childhood there on his grandfather's farm, just down the road from this cemetery. He spoke many times of his "Aunt Josie" and his memories of his childhood there. (Isaac Newton Peters was his father.)
