Mrs. Jordan was born to the union of William Solomon "Sol" Peters and Sarah Margaret Wallace, who married in Winn Parish on March 1, 1871. She married William Lafayette "Will" Jordan in Winn Parish on February 21, 1909. She was a member of the Baptist Church.

She was survived by her husband, William L. Jordan of Winnfield; two daughters, Sarah Lorene James of Zion Hill and Lottie Jordan of Winnfield; one son, William Lavelle Jordan of Paris Island, SC; five brothers, Amos Simeon "Sims" Peters of Plain Dealing, James Spicer Peters of Shreveport, William Horace Peters of Winnfield, Isaac Newton "Newt" Peters of Sterlington, and Benjamin A. "Ben" Peters of Houston, TX; and two sisters, Mary Algerine Fox of Winnfield and Sarah Josephine "Josie" Moffett of Hico.
