Hazel Dell Peterson, Riverview Terrace, Spokane, formerly of Almira, passed away March 27 at the age of 80 years.
She was born north of Almira on September 10, 1895. She attended Sunnyside Country School, and was graduated from Almira High School in 1914. She attended Cheney Norman School in 1914 and 1915, and taught at Grandview Country School for one year.
In October 1916 she was united in marriage to Elmer Laurides Peterson, who preceded her in death in April, 1935. Three children were born of this union, including two sons, Lawrence E. and Norman A. Peterson, both of Almira, and one daughter, Mrs. Clayton (Frances) Walker of Hartline.
She retired from farning in 1958, and since 1967 has made her home at Riverview Terrace, Spokane.
Mrs. Peterson is also survived by a brother, Clarence R. Wilson, East Wenatchee, two sisters, Mrs. Eva Doane, Almira and Mrs. Irna Wellborn, Spokane; fourteen grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, March 31, at 11:00 am from Our Saviour Lutheran Church, Almira. Pastor Albert Tietz officiated. Burial was in the Almira cemetery. Mrs. Marilyn Long sang two songs accompainied by Mrs. Albert Sample at the organ. Pallbearers were grandsons Richard, Gary, and Brayn Peterson, and David, Paul and Scott Walker. Services were under the arrangement of the Robertson Funeral Home at Wilbur.
