ROSEDALE — Linda Petak, 68, of Rosedale and formerly of Clinton died at 7:35 p.m. Sunday, April 23, 2006, in Union Hospital in Terre Haute. She became ill on Jan. 28, 2006, and began to fight multiple cancers. She never complained throughout her entire illness.
She had retired from Terre Haute Building Maintenance, working at the Clinton Eli Lilly Plant with more than 15 years of service. She had a perfect attendance record.
She was born Nov. 13, 1937, in Clinton to Frank Petak and Louise Harshman Petak. Survivors include one brother, Ron Petak of Montezuma, who was there for her during her entire illness; one niece and her husband, Krista and Mike Divan, and one great-nephew, Nathan Divan, all of Rosedale; one aunt, Marian Petak of Clinton; and several cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents.
She attended Clinton High School until 1957. She loved to spend time with her family, especially her great-nephew, Nathan. She was always ready to lend a helping hand to her family. She loved celebrating the holidays and birthdays, and going places with her family.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Friday in Frist Funeral Home in Clinton, with Bob Howard officiating. Burial is in Walnut Grove Cemetery in Clinton. Visitation is 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday.
