TORRINGTON - Angelo Perugini, 101, died on Sunday, Nov. 14, at his residence. He was the husband of 72 years of the late Helen (Sokol) Perugini. He was born Sept. 10, 1909 in a village outside of Pontelandolfo, Italy and was the son of the late Raffaele Perugini and Brigida (Perugini) Perugini. Angelo was a lifelong resident of Torrington, after having immigrated there with his parents in 1913.
He is a graduate of Torrington High School (1929). He managed a Sunoco gas station on the Winsted Rd./Hardy St., and later gave that up as he established his electrical business 'Perugini Electric.' He continued working in the business into his early 80's. He was a member of the Torrington Kiwanis Club. He was proud to be a volunteer at Christmas Village where he gave many hours of his time working with the electrical infrastructure and was instrumental in converting many toys at the village to work by remote control.
Angelo is survived hi two daughters, Grace Bodley Cable of Torrington, Sandra Crosbie and her husband Richard of Exeter, N.H.; two grandsons, Darrin Bodley and his wife Robin of Bristol, Gary Bodley and his wife Heidi of Colchester and five great grandchildren, Tyler, Ryan, Joshua, Morgan, and Madison.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, Nov. 18, at 11 a.m. at Cook Funeral Home, 82 Litchfield St., Torrington. Burial will follow in Hillside Cemetery. Relatives and friends may call on Thursday morning from 9 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11 a.m. at Cook Funeral Home.
