Persefield, 77, of Amarillo died
Tuesday, June 12, 2012.
Burial will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in the Veterans Field of Valor in Llano
Cemetery. Memorial services will follow at 11 a.m. in Polk Street United Methodist Church with the Rev. Kevin Deckard, associate pastor, officiating. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.
Jim E. Persefield was born Nov. 20, 1934, in Amarillo. He was the oldest child of Anna Juanita and Jimmie
William Persefield. He attended Amarillo [filtered word] schools until his family home blew away after a tornado hit Amarillo in May 1949. His family moved to Plainview.
At Plainview High School, Jim met the love of his life, Kay Hanna. They were
married in 1956 while Jim was in the Marine Corps from 1953 to 1957. He joined IBM in Lubbock. With IBM, Jim served as an administrative executive in several different places including the New York City area, Denver, Atlanta and Phoenix.
He was preceded in death by a son, James Blair
Persefield, and a daughter, Ramona Persefield Harris.
Survivors include his wife, Kay Persefield of the home; a son, Kyle Persefield and wife Kathy of Albuquerque, N.M.; a daughter, Lisa Persefield of Amarillo; a sister, Jane
Stephens of Idaho; two brothers, John Persefield of Red Oak and William Persefield of Garland; three grandchildren, Jennifer Harris and Alex Harris, both of Phoenix and Katie Simers of Woodstock, Ga.; and a great-grandchild, Victor Samontiago.
The family suggests memorials be to Polk Street United Methodist Church, 1401 S. Polk St., Amarillo, TX 79101; or to your favorite charity.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
