|Barbara Lee Perryman McLain|
|Birth: ||Jul. 3, 1928|
|Death: ||Feb. 19, 2014|
Barbara Lee McLain was born in Little Rock, Arkansas on July 3, 1928. Her parents were Fredrick Oscar and Mary Frances (Dumas) Perryman. She was raised in and spent her youth in The Church of the Nazarene in Little Rock, Arkansas. While her children were young, she was a "stay at home Mom". Later, she obtained the education that allowed her to work in the oil industry as an accounts payable clerk. In Texas as she raised her children, she was a very active, long time member of Munn Street Baptist Church of Jacinto City, TX. She will be missed by her many friends of the Channelview Senior Citizen Community where she was active in many activities including dance performances for the elderly in nursing homes. She was an avid reader, loving a good mystery plot, and enjoyed being outside in her flower gardens. Mrs. McLain took pleasure in reading the Bible or, in later years, in having the Bible read to her. She painted in oils, watercolors or colored pens. One of her daughters lived in the Flo Community of Leon County, Texas for the past 14 years and much of that time, Mrs. McLain stayed with her. Her "gardening task" was the "gathering of the green beans". She loved her room at her daughter's house and also loved sitting on the porch during pleasant weather drinking coffee and watching the birds and other forest animals that came up behind the house. Mrs. McLain would often travel to Arkansas to visit family there. Barbara McLain, age 85, passed away on February 19, 2014 in the St. Joseph Regional Health Center in Bryan. She was preceded in death by both of her parents; a sister, Imogene Jordan of Walla Walla, Washington; her husband, James Thomas Richardson, Sr. of Houston; second husband, Garland McLain of Channelview and a precious grandson, Louis Farris. Surviving her are six children: son, James Thomas (J.T.) Richardson, Jr. of Channelview, TX; daughter, Barbara Ann Lawaetz and husband Hans Lawaetz, of Fredricksted, St. Croix, USVI; daughter, Doris Lynn Edwards and husband Allen Edwards of Baytown, TX; son, John Fredrick Richardson and wife Lois Anne Richardson of Mexia, TX; daughter, Debra Sue Richardson and husband Leon Hux of Centerville, TX; and daughter, Martha Joy Farris, of Boca Raton, Florida. She is survived by grandchildren, Shelly, Ralana, Marc, C.J., Allen Jr., Aaron Michael, Andrew, John Ross, Melinda, Jennifer and Sarah. She has many great grandchildren and several great-great grandchildren. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Arrangements are under the direction of Walters Funeral Home, Centerville, Texas.
