Ms. Janniffer "Jay" Lavette Banks the daughter of Rose Lee Banks and Limmie Perryman. She was one of four siblings. Janniffer accepted Christ at a young age and was a faithful member of Healing Streams Word and Worship Center of Indianapolis. Janniffer attended Ben Davis High School in Indianapolis. For many years she was a mainstay at John's Fish Market where her smiles and wonderful service brought light into the lives of those who came to see her. She then dedicated her life to home healthcare at Indiana Mentor. Throughout her life she was considered a mother to all; in her neighborhood, community and church and, of course, to her three loving daughters. Janniffer spent her free time playing games, cooking and laughing with her family and friends. She loved serving the Lord through her church and spreading the Word by being a value to her community. Janniffer died after a lengthy struggle with pancreatic cancer. She was preceded in death by her Rose Lee Banks, her mother; Willie Louise Banks, her grandmother; Othella Calhoun, her aunt; Nancy Williams Banks, her aunt; and James c. Banks, her uncle. She is survived by daughters: Ebony Lewis, Alacia Johnson, Twanyai Carter; her sister and brothers: Sandra Banks Talley, Ricky Franklin, Limmie Miquel Banks; nieces and nephews: Takisha, Tywone, Ricky, Demontai, Tiana and Elisia; and a host of other brother, sisters, relatives and dear friends. A Funeral service will be held on October 17, 2011 at the Crown Hill Memorial Chapel with visitation prior to the service. Burial will follow in Crown Hill Cemetery.
