MRS. NELLIE BEST
Mrs. Nellie P. Best, 83, of 102 S. 22nd Street, died in a Billings hospital Monday morning after being a patient there for only a few minutes.
She was born Nellie Perryman at Port Clark, Brackettville, Texas and she was married to William Best at Fort Clark Feb. 27, 1900. He died May 17, 1931 in Billings.
Mr. Best was in the U.S. Cavalry when they were married and while he was stationed in Cuba, Mrs. Best stayed in Brackettville.
After his discharge in 1907, they moved to Cody, Wyo. where they lived until 1908 when they moved to Sheridan, Wyo. In 1917 they moved to Billings.
Mrs. Best was a member of Wayman African Methodist Episcopal Church and its missionary society.
She is survived by two sons, Eugene R. of 106 S. 22nd Street and James R. of 102 S. 22nd Street; six daughters, Mrs. Bertha Arias of 204 S. 22nd Street, Mrs. John Morris of 111 S. 24th Street, Mrs. Calvin White of San Francisco, Mrs. Robert Smith of Seattle, Mrs. Richard Lucero of 220 S. 23rd Street, Miss Stephanie Gene Best of 102 S. 22nd Street; two sisters, Mrs. Della Lee of San Antonio, Miss Edith Perryman of Brackettville; 38 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson.
Smith's Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
