She is the dau. of Abraham PERRET aka PERRY (1774-May 1849) and his wife, Mary Ann BOURQUIN, born 9 Aug 1786. Her father immigrated from Switzerland to settle at Lord Selkirk's colony at Pembina. After a severe flood on the Red River of the North that destroyed most of his property and cattle in the spring of 1824, they travelled by Ox Cart to Fort Snelling. Abraham Perret was one of the first settlers of what is now the City of St. Paul.
