Cora Virginia Perry, 81, of Westminster, died Friday Jan. 3 1997,
at the Carroll County General Hospital. Born Aug 7, 1915, in Wolfeboro,
N H , she was the daughter of the late Karl C. and Cora Goddard
Perry.
She was a graduate of the Pennsylvania Avenue High School in
Cumberland and received her H.G.B. degree from Catherman's
Business School in 1932. She graduated from Western Maryland Col
lege summa cum laude in 1936. While attending the college, she
was a part-time secretary in its education department. She con-
tinued to work at the college and was its registrar until 1977. She
remained registrar emeritus and continued to work part-time at the
college until 1983.
She earned her M L A from Johns Hopkins University in 1966
She was a volunteer at the Carroll County Public Library and a
former member of Soroptimist International. She was a member
of the Westminster United Methodist Church and of Phi Delta
Gamma.
Surviving are a sister, Eleanor Reif of Kensington, a niece, two
great nephews and a great-niece.
