Elizabeth and her husband, James Alexander Dobbins, came to Douglas County, Kansas in 1856 from Fulton County, Illinois. They were accompanied by their adult children, Paulina Jane Dobbins Sperry, Elizabeth Caroline Dobbins Kinsey and James Sellers Dobbins. They settled in Prairie City south of Lawrence.
Elizabeth died within a few months of her arrival and was buried in the Prairie City Cemetery. The town no longers exists but the cemetery is still there and well cared for.
It is probable that her parents were Matthew and Ruth Sellers Perkins of Bracken County, KY.
