Norma P. Baker, 92, of Cambridge, passed away on Sunday, Jan. 16, 2011, at William Hill Manor in Easton.

She was born in Salisbury on Oct. 6, 1918, and was a daughter of the late Norman U. and Olive Bassett Perdue. Mrs. Baker attended schools in Wicomico County. She worked with her husband at Nuttle's Lumber Company but mainly she was a housewife and mother. On May 22, 1937, she married Paul D. Baker. He passed away on Feb. 13, 2003. Mrs. Baker was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church for over 50 years. She belonged to the Women's Methodist Christian Association. She also belonged to the Mizpah Bible Class and was very active in the church. She is survived by a daughter, Bonnie Keplinger and husband Tom of Hurlock; four grandchildren, William W. Thomas III of Alexandria, Va., Terri Lee Thomas of Salisbury, Ben Keplinger of California and Patti Newberry of Delaware; eight great-grandchildren, Hillary Hastings, Phann White, Peter Mom, Rachel Newberry, Nathan Keplinger, Joshua Keplinger, Julia Keplinger and Bethany Keplinger; and two great-great-grandchildren, Abigail White and Marcus Ken. Besides her parents and her husband, Mrs. Baker was preceded in death by a sister, Gloria Collins. Pallbearers will be William Thomas III, Terri Thomas, Randall Bradshaw, Harold Carr, Fred Redmer and Hugh Vinson. A funeral service will be 1 p.m., today, Jan. 21, 2011, at Thomas Funeral Home, P.A. in Cambridge with Rev. A. Delmer Willey, Jr. officiating. Interment will follow at East New Market Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 12 to 1 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to St. Paul's United Methodist Church, c/o Scott Daniels, 205 Maryland Avenue, Cambridge, MD 21613.
