DAVENPORT - Memorial services and Mass of Christian burial for Lillian "Lil" Kiley Zoller , 85, a former resident of Davenport, will be 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 2, at St. Anthony's Catholic Church. Private family burial will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Davenport. The family will greet friends on Friday, Oct. 1, at the Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home from 5 to 7 p.m.

Lil died on Sept. 7, 2004, at the Lincoln County Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Troy, Mo. Following her wishes cremation rites were accorded.

Mary Lillian Peppard was born June 21, 1919, in St. Joseph, Mo., a daughter of Arthur J. and Ann (Lavelle) Peppard. She was united in marriage to Robert J. Kiley on Sept. 2, 1941, in St. Joseph. He preceded her in death on Aug. 19, 1972. She then married David Freeborn in 1974 and he preceded her in death in 1984. She then married Charles Zoller on Oct. 5, 1986. He preceded her in death in October 1998.

She was employed for many years in the Placement Office at St. Ambrose College, Davenport, until 1972, helping students to find part time and career opportunities. She loved working with the students and faculty at St. Ambrose and with area employers.

She was an active member of St. Anthony Catholic Church and a devoted disciple of Father Bill ("Digger") Dawson. Lil was also active in Plus 60. She volunteered with the Heart Association, PTA, Dads Club and numerous service organizations. According to her family: "Life for Lil was always about helping people, learning, and having fun. Her family, friends and students at St. Ambrose all bear witness to her love and helping nature. And at the end of a day of helping others, Lillian was a woman whose zest for life, fun and friendship was remarkable. Her sweet expression spoke volumes about her outlook and philosophy of life. Her resilience and optimism, despite great personal losses, is an inspiration to all who knew her."

Memorials may be made to the Center for Active Seniors (CASI), Genesis Visiting Nurses Association, or St. Anthony's Parish.
