Dolores Ann Dabbs, 60, died Monday, May 10, 1999, at the North Mississippi Medical Center after a long illness. She was born Dec. 22,1938, in Amory to Junnie Clifton and Melba Aline Ritter Pennington. She grew up in Amory and graduated from Amory High School in 1956. She married Robert Lowell Dabbs on June 18, 1960. Before retiring, she worked for the Soil Conservation Service in Tupelo for 16 years. She had lived in Tupelo for more than 35 years and attended Harrisburg Baptist Church. She enjoyed reading, flower gardening and the Internet.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at E.E. Pickle Funeral Home in Amory with Bro. James Leo Segars and Dr. Forrest Sheffield officiating. Burial will be in Hatley Cemetery.

Survivors include her husband, Robert Lowell Dabbs of Tupelo; her mother, Melba Aline Pennington of Amory; four sons, Robert Lowell Dabbs Jr. and his wife, Leslie, of San Diego, Calif., Stephen Lee Dabbs and his wife, Teresa, of Jackson, Danny Keith Dabbs and his wife, Cindy, of Columbus and Clifton Riley Dabbs of Kansas City, Mo.;two brothers, Benny L. Pennington of Union City, Tenn., and Junnie R.Pennington of Bardstown, Ky.; six grandchildren, Robert Lowell "Robbie" Dabbs III, Jennie Dabbs, Josh Dabbs, Cole Dabbs, Ridgeland Clay Dabbs and Anna Claire Dabbs.

She was preceded in death by her father in 1990 and a brother, Joe Pennington.

Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
