EDMOND — Funeral services for Glenda Merle Briesch, 76, of Edmond, Okla. will be 2 p.m. Saturday January 7, 2012 at the Zion Church in Weatherford, Okla. with Reverend W.R. Rains officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery under the direction of Lockstone Funeral Home, Weatherford.
Glenda was born January 12, 1935 in Cordell, Okla. to Arthur and Clara (Penney) Penner. She passed away Wednesday, January 4, 2012 at OU Medical Center in Edmond.
Glenda was raised and attended school in Clinton, Okla. She married Otto (George) Briesch on January 2, 1951 in Clinton, and they made their home in Medicine Park. They lived and worked in Wisconsin and Owasso, Okla. before moving to California from 1958 until 1962. In 1962, they returned to Oklahoma and made their home in Weatherford. Glenda worked at the Weatherford Co-op for many years. In 2007 she moved to Edmond. She enjoyed volunteering at the hospital and at the voting precinct.
Glenda is survived by her husband Otto (George) Briesch of the home; two sons, Arthur Briesch and his wife Sheila of Edmond, and David Michael Briesch; two brothers, Robert Penner and his wife Leona, and Garry Penner and his wife Donna, of Weatherford; two sisters-in-law, Cassie Penner of Clinton, and Evelyn Penner of Weatherford; four grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Art and Mike Penner; and two sisters, Dorothy and Wanda.
