He was born April 18, 1922, in Evansville, Indiana, the son of Carl and Emma Penna, who emigrated from Italy.

He was a lifelong resident of Monroe County, Indiana, and was retired ledge foreman of Independent Limestone Co. after 37 years.

He was a Navy veteran of World War II, serving in the South Pacific, New Guinea.

He was a member of St. John the Apostle Catholic Church and had volunteered at the Food Bank and Bloomington Hospital.

Burial will be at Valhalla Memory Gardens.
