Stacia Libera, 94, died Thursday, Nov. 29 at A.L. Lee Memorial Hospital in Fulton. Mrs. Libera was born May 27, 1907 in Fulton and was a daughter of Michael and Mary (Baron) Penkala. She and her husband, Stanley, operated a vegetable farm on Rte. 14 in Fulton for many years. They spent their winters at their home in St. Petersburg, Fla. Mrs. Libera was a communicant of St. Michael's Church in Fulton. She was predeceased by her husband who died Oct. 14, 1982, her son, Peter, who died in 1938, and her daughter, Jean Ruta, who died in 1991. Surviving are her daughter, Marilou Sohoski of Fulton; one brother, Joseph Penkala of Fulton; two sisters, Genevieve Daly of Maggie Valley, N.C., and Emily Karkut of Baldwinsville; eight grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Monday in St. Michael's Church, 301 Beech St., Fulton. Burial was in St. Mary's Cemetery, Fulton.
