Chyrene Arnita Pendleton, 54, passed away on Friday, June 3, 2011.
Chyrene was born on Aug. 6, 1956, in Lyman, Maine, to the late Edwin Pendleton. She is survived by her mother, Nadine Clark; her sisters, Guyrie Ingram and Kabina Dunbar; a bother, Ezra Pendleton; and her nieces, Panya Heard, Jaurielle Pendleton, Kanicia and Kamila Dunbar.
She was introduced to a lifestyle of meditation, spirituality and discovered her talented art abilities. She was the child of a Naval officer so she spent her early years living in the country of Japan. Chyrene later moved to Denver, Colo., where she graduated from high school and received her college degree in computer science and also graduated from the school of metaphysics.
Chyrene volunteered throughout her life for several humanitarian and spiritual organizations. She taught at local workshops, gave lectures and published articles on her website Isle of Light and mainstream media at PAC 99 in Oneida County.
She moved to Vernon 10 years ago where she established new roots and developed great friendships with local natives of Vernon. At PAC 99 her responsibilities included being the television producer and was the producer and host of the Isle of Light Internet radio show.
Funeral services are being made by the family and will be announced at a later date.
