WESLACO, TX. - Auline Davis, 92, passed away on Thursday, November 11, 2010.
Auline was born in Vasco (near Cooper) in Delta County, TX. on September 4, 1918. She moved to the Rio Grande Valley in 1924 with her family.
Auline was a retired teacher, having taught for over 20 years with the Weslaco Independent School District. She also taught Bible school classes for nearly 20 years at the Bridge Avenue Church of Christ in Weslaco. Auline was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.
We owe a debt of gratitude to all of the caretakers who lovingly helped to take care of our precious mother over the past 10 years. We would also like to thank Dr. Alejandro Fuentes and Dr. Dario Narro for their outstanding care.
Auline was preceded in death by her parents, John and Bertha Williams Pemelton; her four brothers; and her beloved husband, Jodie Davis, who passed away in 1995.
She is survived by her daughter, Joyce (George) Faires; a son, David Davis; 4 grandsons, 12 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held today, Sunday, November 14, 2010 from 3 pm to 6 pm at McCaleb Funeral Home in Weslaco.
Graveside services and interment will be held on Monday, November 15, 2010 at 2 pm at Highland Memorial Park in Weslaco officiating the service will be Bill Roach of Bridge Avenue Church of Christ in Weslaco.
