ALBERT J. PEMBERTON
August 1, 1944 ~ July 8, 2014
Al was born in Vancouver, Washington and passed away in Kirkland, Washington. He grew up and attended Ridgefield, Washington schools from the first grade to graduation. Al participated in high school sports, excelling in track. His events were the discus and shot-put.
Al attended the University of Washington in Seattle, Washington on a track scholarship.
Later, he worked for Fircrest School and because of his work there, became involved in Special Olympics. The next 35 years he worked in the banking and loan industry. He found great satisfaction helping new and existing businesses thrive while working with the Small Business Loan Administration.
Al loved nature and being outdoors. His interests included: fly-fishing, tying flies, gardening, and music.
Al leaves behind his wife, Charlene; his daughter, Amy Forrest; his son, Eric Pemberton; as well as four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Always eager for a gathering, a very special one was planned in his honor during August of 2014.
