Rita M. Berry-Gaudet, 77
PORTLAND - Rita M. Berry-Gaudet, 77, of Allen Avenue, was called to be with the Lord, Jesus, on Sept. 22, 2015. She was born in Winterville, Maine, a daughter to Camilla (Albert) and Donald Pelletier.
Rita cherished her family and embraced her role as a mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. In addition to caring for her family, she impacted the lives of countless children through her work while owning and operating her daycare, The Berry Patch, in Windham.
She was preceded in death by her loving husbands, Bill Berry and Terry Gaudet, and her 10 siblings.
Rita is survived by her loving children, Joelene and Peter Romanos of Springvale, Scott and Elizabeth Flaherty of South Portland, Colleen and Gary Tirabassi of Falmouth, Shawn and Ramona Flaherty of Fort Worth, Texas, Dan and Michele Flaherty of North Yarmouth, Matthew and Amanda Berry of Claremont, Fla.; 16 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. Rita is also survived by her first husband and life-long friend Robert Flaherty of Portland.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 26, 2015 at St. Joseph's Church, 673 Stevens Ave. Portland. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery. A light luncheon at the funeral home will follow the interment.
