Mary Elizabeth Cox, 79, Cambridge City, Indiana, died Tuesday, August 27, 2002, at Oakridge Rehabilitation Nursing Home in Richmond after an extended illness.
She was born February 18, 1923, in Randolph County, the daughter of James Roland and Nellie Opal Cougil Pegg and lived in the Cambridge City area for 18 years after moving from Lynn, Indiana.
Mary graduated from Lincoln High School in Randolph County with the class of 1941. She was a homemaker, worked at Westinghouse in Union City and worked for Dr. Bertsch for several years. She was an antique collector, especially Santa Claus collectibles.
Survivors include two sisters, Lucille Talley and Ruby Miller both of Muncie; three brothers, Harvey Pegg of Winchester, Jay Pegg of Richmond and Basil Pegg of Haines City, FL, and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Fred Cox, a brother Emmett Pegg and a sister, Irene Wilson.
Funeral service was August 31, at Marshall & Erlewein Funeral Home in Dublin with Rev. Max Knight officiating. Burial was in Buena Vista Cemetery north of Modoc in Randolph County.
